Just One Word: Choose

My word for this year is Choose. For the month of January I am focusing on choosing kindness. I choose to send kindness by sending happy mail. Everyone loves getting cards! My goal is to send at least 20 cards this month so I've created a trio of quick and easy cards featuring CTMH Something Fierce paper packet. This kit seems so happy to me, I had to choose it.

My next post is Monday and I'll share the details to make 1 of these 3 cards. Then Wednesday I'll share another of the 3 cards and announce the WINNER of the Blog Hop prize.

Be sure to hop over to Julia

Here's our line up in case you get lost along the way.

Just One Word

Have you heard of using one word instead of a New Year's Resolution? I was challenged in a FB group to pick a word, I didn't know what it meant.

For Those of You That Don't Know: It means pick a word that you want to live by and reflect on for the year. A word instead of a specific goal that most of us never succeed at fulfilling all year. For example, choose Health instead of I'm going to the gym more often. Then you reflect on health all year and it focuses you to eat better and exercise more.

My Word: I picked choose/choice. I rarely make New Year's Resolutions because I know I won't make it through January. But, last year I decided to make a goal of sending more happy mail all year. I made it about one week then "got too busy". I know that I needed to choose to make time. I need to choose to make time for the things that are important. I need to choose to cut some things from my life to make time for those that are important. So I choose to pick choose/choice as my word for 2019. Comment below and tell me your word and why you picked it.

Are Printed Photographs Obsolete?

Photos bring memories to life.
My son and his wife don't print their photos. They upload them to a webpage that they can share with friends and family. Great way to share with a lot of people but what happens one day when the internet becomes obsolete or their webpage is hacked? I know so many that say they don't need to print photos, they have them handy wherever they go on their phones. Have they never had a phone die on them or their cloud account get too full?

We have this marvelous tool called a camera to record our history yet how many of today's photos will disappear as technology changes?

I found an article which expresses my feelings about not printing photos better than I can. Please check out what Mike Yost has to say.

Photos help us to remember.
I admit I don't print all of my photos. I take to many, storage would become an issue. However, if I care enough to take pictures of something, then I care enough to print and scrapbook at least some of the photos from that moment in time. What do you do with your photos? Do you print them?
